There are many past cases of architects handling stage art, but in every case, the general framework for the scenario and music came first, and the spatial props had been added later. THE END was perhaps the first time when creators from different genres got together and started from scratch to complete a drama piece through confrontation and compromise. The boundaries between sound, light, words and space flicker and disappear. Despite the fact Shigematsu seemed to get a taste of the struggles of his predecessors in depth, there is no doubt the horizon opened up by his courageous challenge and his new position as an architect will expand endlessly in the future.
