摘要

PRODUCTION at the Peanut Company of Australia's (PCA) processing plant at Kingayoy in southern Queensland is returning to normal. This follows the contamination scare mid-way through last year that forced the company to review production-line procedures. It has not been an easy six months for the PCA, which handles 65% to 80% of the Australian peanut crop and is a key employer in the Kingaroy area. But the damage could have been far worse had the company not taken steps to find new markets, move into value-adding and build extra safeguards into the processing line.
