Research investigates new benchmarks for wool comfort and whiteness

The Sheep CRC is drawing key scientists together from across Australia to address several long-running, raw-fibre and processing complexities that limit the wool industry's capacity to compete with alternate fibres such as cotton and synthetics. Underits Next Generation Wool Quality program, the Sheep CRC's work actively involves commercial partners and AWI to achieve outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner and improve adoption success. Program leader and ex-CSIRO and wool industry manager David Tester says the industry's future is seen in the development, promotion and sale of lightweight, trans-seasonal, next-to-skin woollen knitwear.
