Vegetation law a thorny issue

There is a distinct pessimistic mood surrounding agriculture in many central and northern Australian mixed-farming districts. And it is not due to the usual culprits that are out of farmers' control - drought and low commodity prices. It is due to something farmers can control — woody weeds. But the new native vegetation regulations is casting a shadow over how this can be achieved in a commercially viable, sustainable way.
