CROPPING LAND INTEREST, VALUE INCREASES: Grain returns remain high

THE RELATIVELY high returns for grain continues to fuel demand for cropping land around the country. In contrast, buyer interest in sheep and cattle properties has been sluggish in line with depressed returns for wool and beef. According to Sydney-based Meares and Associates managing director, Chris Meares, the depressed state of the beef and wool markets has led to some good buying opportunities for quality livestock properties.
