AUSTRALIAN farmers won't go to school. As a group they are less formally educated than the rest of the community. And new research indicates many are paying a high price for their non-attendance in the classroom. The education of farmers has becomea hot topic as farm leaders search for reasons many producers can't earn a cracker from their properties. The recent Rural Finance Summit in Canberra was told the top 20% of farmers earn 100% of the rural sector's profits.
