EVALUATING THE EFFICIENCY OF NETWORK RESOURCE PROTECTION FACILITIES

Probabilistic and cost criteria for estimating the effectiveness of means of protecting network resources against unauthorized access and illegal manipulation of "legal" objects are formulated on the basis of Markov models of attacks on the information contained in network resources; Examples illustrating the use of these criteria for the purpose of selecting the parameters of security facilities are considered.
