Movement on the stations: Top 10 landholders

There is movement in the Top 10 of Australia's biggest landholders. What stands out over the past 12 months is the emergence of three new entrants to the Top 10 and re-allocation of properties among some other major players. Northern Australian pastoral property sales have continued at the frenetic pace set in 2004/05, but this year there's a new dynamo fuelling the fire: managed investment schemes (MIS). They have catapulted Great Southern into the Top 10 landholders and provided opportunities for other players to shore up their enterprises by taking on management roles.
