摘要

Mass-reared beneficial insects are taking Integrated Pest Management (IPM) to new levels in the cotton industry. Cotton farmers at St George, Queensland, Kevin and Sue Anderson, have been undertaking bug warfare to protect their cotton crop - with promising results for the cotton industry and the environment. The Andersons farm 190 hectares of cotton, 80ha sunflowers and seven hectares each of pigeon and chickpeas. For many years, the property has been back-to-back cotton, but last season the Andersons planted sunflowers in August to assist as an in-field insectary.
