The Icebreaker Merino wool clothing paddock to shop production and marketing model has become the benchmark business model for a growing number of wool producers, processors and clothing retailers. Treena Hein spoke to NewMerino's~R Peter Vandeleur tofind out why the model is working so well. Building on the success of companies such as New Zealand's Icebreaker, NewMerino~R was established in 2005. Its existence has allowed Australian Merino wool producers and textile-makers to unite, all under a framework of a certified supply, based around sustainability, traceability and animal welfare.
