Self-regulation will benefit wool industry

THE AUSTRALIAN Wool Exchange (AWEX) has completed the transition phase to a self-regulated wool market and firmly believes that change will benefit the entire Australian wool industry. To date, AWEX has played a significant role in industry self-regulation — the changes that occurred in the establishment of the self-regulatory framework and the critical issues confronting the industry and the Wool Exchange in a de-regulated wool market in Australia. As a result, AWEX's role today is as industry facilitator, regulator, service provider and leader.
