Canadian junior Strathmore Minerals, like Paladin Resources of Australia, has been one of the rare breed of companies to accumulate uranium properties during the depths of the uranium bear market in the mid-to-late 1990s. Since being founded in 1996 by canny resources financier Devinder Randhawa, Strathmore's strategy has been to acquire uranium resources that have been previously discovered, but not yet mined. David Miller, formerly geological chief at Cogema, was a pivotal figure in helping piece together the company's portfolio which is stuffed full of projects and exploration licences in some of world's hottest uranium addresses. Dieter Krewedl, another Cogema veteran, also recently joined Strathmore as a director.
