Highlands finally banks on Ramu

It has been a long time com ing but Highlands Pacific Ltd is starting to count its cash from the Ramu nickel project in Papua New Guinea. Highlands is an 8.56% shareholder in Ramu which is operated by Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC). MCC reported an operating surplus of $US67 million (un audited) and after capital ex penditure it pocketed $US44 million, with production of 20,987t nickel and 2,134t co balt at an average production cost of $US10,800/t before cobalt credits.
