This will come as no surprise to most blokes, but you can sometimes obtain great inspiration while browsing through magazines that, shall we say, are aimed mainly at male readers. Those mags that have lovingly photographed images of beautiful bodies that somehow tend to appeal more to males than females. Magazines unlikely to be in the reading pile at the local hair salon, if you know what I mean. Yes, I'm talking about publications devoted to automobiles. My wife appreciates the fine lines of a Maserati or Alfa as much as the next aesthete, but among her extensive magazine collection, there's not a single rev head rag. Oh, show Judy a photo spread of the 8C Spider and she'll softly moan as much as the next person with a soul and we've happily watched many a Top Gear show together, but left to her own devices, she won't be found flicking through a Wheels or Italian Car in the newsagency.
