It had been more than two years since Richard, one of our club members, had brought in some strange specimens of rock he'd found alongside the creek that ran through his property up at Comboyne, on the NSW mid-north coast. We'd all had a look and no one could work out what they were. There were opinions on everything ranging from serpentine to asbestos, so our museum curator, Janette, carefully bagged it, tagged it, and put it away because at that time we considered it a potentially dangerous specimen.
