The cream of theTasmanian dairy industry gathered at Cradle Mountain on 25 May 2012 to share information, network and learn from each other. Chris Phillips, group manager trade and strategy at Dairy Australia spoke about the effect of the carbon tax on the dairy industry. Three publicly listed dairy companies - Murray Goulburn, Fonterra and Bega/Tatura - are among the 500 firms 'covered' by the carbon tax. This means they have to pay tax directly and are liable for waste and fugitive emissions produced by the plant.
