摘要

The present study was done to evaluate somaclonal variation cytologically within Helianthus callus grown on MS medium without kinetin. Cytological studies using a cytophotometric measurements were carried out using distal, intermediate and basal samples within the same callus. Histological studies were restricted mainly to the cytodifferentiation of the conductive tissue. Differences in the results of the studied parameters which were obtained reflect somaclonal variation within the same callus. This might be attributed to a process of uncontrolled diffusion of nutrient that might took place in the disorgamzed culture. The histological examinations might help to identify that xylogenesis in disorganized culture took place through the primitive elements.
