摘要

The potential of banana byproducts (rejected fruits, leaves and pseudostem) as feed supplements for ruminants was investigated based on chemical composition and in situ dry matter degradation. It was shown that crude protein content ranged from 5.55% in fruits to 9.06% in leaves. Crude fibre ranged from 12.6% in fruits to 44% in pseudostems. Rejected fruits showed the highest dry matter degradation at all incubation times, followed by pseudostems and leaves. These results show that banana wastes have the potential to be used as feed supplements for ruminants.
