We at Murata Machinery Ltd. are proud of the more than two thousand VORTEX machines in production worldwide. The estimated capacity of VORTEX spinning is equal to more than three million ring spinning spindles. Still we are small, with approximately only 1% of the world's spinning capacity. However, we are convinced that the markets for our VORTEX yarns are increasing. We are also proud of the versatility of VORTEX, which can comfortably spin yarns for a wide range of uses, from various fiber types. Figure 1 shows the different yarns produced by our VORTEX partners around the world. Viscose and polyester/viscose blends are major products for VORTEX, but the production of 100% polyester, 100% cotton and poly/cotton blends (CVC blends), are also expanding.
