摘要

Structural hardening mechanisms of lead-cadmium-aluminium alloys for battery grids. The reequilibration of supersaturated Pb-Cd-A1 alloys was studied for the time range from one minute to over a year.The content of Cd 2 weight %, the Al contents were 0,068-0,85 weight %. Two structural states were considered: as-cast alloys; rehomogenised alloy. The explored temperatures were 20 and 80 ℃. This last temperature corresponds to the curing temperature of battery's grids and to the highest operating temperature. This study shows that in the presence of the minor additions of the aluminum, the mechanisms of structural hardening are identical to those of the alloys PbCd. However, we notice that the presence of this ternary element accelerates the kinetics of the hardening transformations.
