2003 Apparel Exports Down to USus1.4 Billion

Taiwan's apparel exports fell to USus1.4 billion in 2003,which reached a peak of USus5 billion in 1986.The number of export-oriented apparel manufacturers has decreased from 3,000 to about 600,and factories with more than 1,000 employees have disappeared completely.Very few factories employ more than 100 people recently.
