Synthetic fiber makers report gains for fiscal first half

The business performance of seven japanese synthetic fiber producers for the six-month period ending in september 2003 showed increases in sales and profits on a consolidated basis.Most of the producers say that profits improve for theri fiber & textile business,but the polyester fiber busines remained unprofitable for most of them with the exceptin of toray industries,Inc.
