Fears of lower jute crop

For the 2003-04 season,jute crop is expected to drop as much as 30%.Last year's crop has been estimated at 11 million bales of 180 kg each.However,these estimates are from jute growers,and jute mills believe that the drop may not be that steep.The industry has estimated the crop at 9-9.5 million bales.
