Meetings of minds: A summary of 2012 and objectives for 2013

The months of October and November 2012 were very busy for the New Brunswick Cattle Producers (NBCP). We held our seven regional zone meetings throughout New Brunswick, and more than 100 beef farmers attended, as well as local veterinarians and representatives from the Sussex Auction Bam and the Saint-Isidore, Quebec, auction. At each zone meeting we reviewed old business and administrative changes. We also reviewed current cattle market conditions. At the end of each meeting we solicited input fromour producers to provide guidance on issues the board should address. Here is a brief review of some of the recommendations, which have become part of our action plans for 2013:Clarification of the levy collection was asked for at many meetings and was provided.
