Bull bonus an attractive buyer incentive

Just as I started writing this article I got word the Department is going to reoffer the offer the Elite Sires program. This is good news for beef producers interested in going to the April 7 Nap-pan Test Station Sale to buy a bull. The timing could not be better. Again, beef producers will be able to receive financial assistance toward the purchase of qualifying, genetically superior beef bulls. Applicant farm operations will be eligible for assistance of 20 percent of the purchase price for eligible Test Station beef bull(s), or other qualifying purebred beef bulls. The basic purchase financial assistance has a maximum of $300 per bull. Additional incentives could add up to another $200.
