Moldova, Gazprom extend gas talks

Russia's state-controlled Gazprom has agreed to extend its contract to supply gas to Moldova until the end of the first quarter of this year, allowing talks over a new supply deal to continue into January. The contract had been expected to expire in December. Gazprom's exports to Moldova were priced according to a formula "based on market principles", the firm says, although Moldova secured a discount in 2008-10.
