Sinopec starts work on Tianjin LNG

Chinese state-controlled energy firm Sinopec has begun engineering and construction work on its 3mn t/yr LNG receiving terminal at Tianjin, north China. Work has started just three months after the company said it would carry out a second environmental impact assessment at the project. The facility in the Tianjin Nangang industrial zone will be constructed in two phases, taking capacity to an eventual 10mn t/yr.
