In February 2014 two export shipments were made from the Formosa refinery totalling 31,000t and shipped to China,identical to the December and January export performance. The Jan-Feb 2014 export total of 62,000t was in fact 30% lower than January-February 2013’s export total of 89,000t. Lower production at the Formosa refinery has meant lower export availability,and export shipments for March and April were expected to be very low due to maintenance work on the desulphurization unit.Formosa’s tender held on 16 April was the first export tender since 17 January.
