Producers and local traders are holding urea prices up for the time being, asking $278-280/t fob for granular for April and $268-270/t fob for prills. However, any business taking place is seeing prices around $260/t fob set in short sales of prilled urea and the low-$270s/t fob for granular. Few Chinese traders are prepared to back low-priced sales and there are reports the short sales are concentrated in a few hands.
