Many incidences of damage to paved surfaces can be attributed to the use of fine-grained joint material in combination with overly narrow joints between the paving setts and a lack of filter stability in respect of the bed material. To avoid such damage, the requirements of TL Pflaster-StB 06 (Technical Terms of Delivery for Sett Paving Road Construction) for bed and joint materials have been set out in clearly structured product datasheets. With additional allowance for the filter criteria in accordance with ZTV Pflaster-StB 06 (Additional Technical Contract Terms for Sett Pavings in Road Construction), producers are now called upon to supply coordinated build material blends for the construction of paved surfaces
