Max Petroleum has encountered more pay dirt with appraisal well SAGW-13 at its Sagiz West field in Kazakhstan. The SAGW-13 well was drilled to a total depth of 1,577m (5,174ft), with electric logs indicating 6m (20ft) of net oil pay over a 16m (52ft) gross interval in the Triassic formation, at depths between 1,252-1,268m (4,108-4,160ft).
