Myanmar has awarded 10 deepwater blocks and 10 shallow-water blocks via its latest offshore licensing round that was launched back in April 2013, according to the country's Ministry of Energy. A host of big hitters have been awarded blocks in the round. Anglo Dutch player Shell, Norway's Statoil, US majors Chevron and ConocoPhillips, the UK's BG Group, India's Reliance Industries and Oi l India, Italy's Eni and France's Total and Ophir Energy all landed blocks offshore Myanmar. Statoil will operate deepwater Block AD-10 with US player ConocoPhillips as its partner. The partners will each hold a 50% stake in the block, which lies 200km off the coast. The block covers more than 9,000sq km and has a water depth of 2,000m (6,562ft).
