Thailand to offer 29 blocks in February

Thailand plans to launch a new licensing round in February 2015 for 29 onshore and offshore blocks as the country looks to secure energy supplies, according to a senior energy ministry official. Thailand, which uses natural gas to generate nearly 70% of its power, has been struggling to secure long-term supplies as growth in output and reserve replacement have not kept pace with demand.
