Uncertainty surrounding Russia's commitment to the Power of Siberia project could improve China's medium-term LNG outlook. The Power of Siberia gas pipeline was to support Russia's 38bcm gas deal with China by connecting gas from the large Chayandinskoye gas feld in the Russian Far East to China. The project was to start fowing gas to China by 2019. Delays to the start-up of Russian gas fows could open up an opportunity for increased LNG exports to China.
