BMI View: A possible cutback of gas exports from Myanmar would hit Thailand the most, since the latter accounts for nearly all of Myanmar's exports. Talks between Myanmar and Thailand's state-owned PTTEP could be more challenging than it appears, given that Thailand's gas demand is expected to rise much more than domestic production can supply. Reduced supply from Myan- mar could be substituted with LNG supplies from Qatar, however, thanks to the construction of a LNG receiving terminal that should be operational by 2015.
