Product prices were mixed, with distillates rising amid increased export demand, while gasoline and most other refined product prices fell. Refineries operated at slightly less than 80pc of capacity, reducing gasoline and distillate production, but stocks were still unseasonably high.Diesel strengthened on high demand. Refinery problems in Venezuela and Ecuador resulted in a number of tenders to buy diesel. Peru sought lower-sulphur diesel from the Gulf coast ahead of a specification change to 50ppm sulphur in January.
