WTI rises above Brent

Nymex light sweet crude futures surged ahead of Ice Brent, as a draw in inventories at the WTI delivery hub of Cushing boosted the contract.Front-month WTT futures gained 3.42/bl to 47.03/bl,while front-month Ice Brent futures climbed by 1.45/bl to 45.09/bl.Non-commercial positions on Nymex WTI futures turned net short in the week to 3 March for the first time since Novem ber,as US economic data hit confidence that markets will rise.Non-commercial WTI futures positions fell from nearly 29,000 lots net long to just over 500 lots net short.
