Goldman Sachs sees 95/bl crude

Crude prices may reach S95/bl by the end of the year unless Opec increases production in the third quarter,says investment bank Goldman Sachs.Fellow banks Barclays Capital and Deutsche Bank have raised price forecasts.Barclays Capital - whose forecasts are usually among the highest in the industry - raised its prediction for average Nymex WTI futures prices by 6.60/bl to 73.90/bl for 2008 and for Ice Brent futures by S7.40/bl to 73.60/bl.The increase reflects growing concern that low non-Opec supply growth is structural rather than transitory because of steep decline rates in mature areas such as the North Sea and Mexico.
