Turkmen expor ters target Novorossiysk

Turkmenistan is hoping to increase crude exports through Russia next year, although the expected lifting of interna- tional sanctions against Iran could give it other options. Turkmen producers have asked to ship up to 1mn t (20,000 b/d) of crude through Russia next year, traders say. Although transit will probably be lower, market participants say, Turkmen supply is likely to rise compared with this year because of higher production. Overall Turkmen crude exports rose by over 30pc year on year to 3.2mn t in January- September. Transit through Russia rose by 77pc to 599,000t, the highest since shipments began in 2011.
