1. Urals discounts in the Mediterranean to North Sea Dated widened by 60¢/bl, as demand waned ahead of March refinery turnarounds. Trade was slow before March-loading programmes. Shipping delays through the Turkish straits rose to 10 days for a round trip from eight days the previous week, as bad weather brought shipping activity through the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits to a standstill. 2. Alaska North Slope (ANS) crude gained strength against WTI ahead of the summer driving season and the switch from winter to summer-grade gasoline. ANS for March delivery moved to a 45¢/bl discount to WTI, after previously trading at a 1.15/bl discount. A cargo of April ANS changed hands at an 850/bl discount to WTI.
