Vietnamese Bach Ho stays at home

Medium sweet Vietnamese Bach Ho crude exports are disappearing fast, pushing up prices of other regional medium sweet grades and forcing the majors to look outside the region for replacements. Vietnam's new 145,000 b/d Dung Quat refinery is expected to reach peak throughput in October, when almost all of the 120,000 b/d Bach Ho stream will be used to feed the refinery. Already, most of the 100,000 b/d of Bach Ho assigned to term buyers under April-September supply contracts has dried up, as output is increasingly diverted to Dung Quat.
