Kuwaiti KPC’s chief executive Nizar Mohammad al-Adsani says he does not know when the 300,000 b/d Khafji feld will resume production. Saudi Arabia shut the Neutral Zone feld — which it jointly operates with Kuwait — on 20 October for “environmental reasons” (AGM, 24 October, p7). Kuwait is producing 2.9mn b/d of crude, al-Adsani says. Argus estimates it at 2.75mn b/d because of the Khafji shut-in. Al-Adsani expects oil prices to remain at $65/bl until the global economy begins to pick up, or Opec changes its production levels.
