Oil prices were mixed as tight supplies supported North Sea markets and plentiful stocks weighed on US grades. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated rose by 83¢/ bl to $107.79/bl in the week to 31 October, while US marker December WTI fell by 73¢/bl to $96.38/bl, its lowest level since June. North Sea Dated’s premium to WTI increased to nearly $11.50/bl, the widest since April. WTI and WTI-linked crudes have come under pressure from plentiful supplies. A 4.1mn bl rise in US crude stocks and a 2.2mn bl build in inventories at the Nymex WTI pricing hub at Cushing, Oklahoma, in the week to 25 October weighed on the US marker.
