Bahrain: gulf industrial investment company (GIIC) achieves production record figure in 2005

The Gulf Industrial Investment Company in Bahrain had achieved a production record figure in 2005 amounting to 4.044.342 tons of the iron ore pellets against 3.716.209 tons in 2004, i.e., up by 8,8 percent. The volume of sales amounted to 3.602.949 tons in 2005 against 3.684.186 tons in 2004. The share of the Gulf region countries of the total sales amounted to 864.564 tons, i.e., equivalent to 51.8 percent against 40.8 percent in 2004, followed by India in the second rank (869.268 tons), i.e., equivalent to 24 percent against 32.7 percent in 2004, South East Asia in the third rank (635.505 tons), i.e., equivalent to 17.6 percent against 17.5 percent in 2004, and Iran in the fourth rank (233.611 tons) against (260.844 tons), i.e., equivalent to 6.5 percent against 7 percent in 2004.
