Morocco-Maghred Steel : Inauguration of Second Cold-Rolling Line

On 10 March 2005 Maghreb Steel will celebrate inauguration of the second cold-rolling line which coincides with the passage of 30 years to the foundation of Maghreb Steel Company which was known at the time of its establishment in 1975 in the name of Maghreb Tubes Company, its trade name was changed into Maghreb Steel Company in 2000 after the full change of its production from tubes into steel. The company set up its new cold rolling, mill in 2000 with a production capacity of up to 200 thousand tons. In 2004 it added a second cold-rolling line with the aim to double the capacity up to 400 thousand tons. During the last two years the company introduced several new expansions: in 2003 it introduced a second galvanizing line with the aim to boost the galvanization capacity up to 230 thousand tons, in 2004 ii also introduced the second pickling line with the aim to double the production capacity.
