Steel: its next one hundred years

摘要

The steel industry has experience its most dramatic expansion in the period between 1898-1998. Changes in the way steel is manufactured and used between now and 2098 will be equally impressive. Demands for consistent and improved performance of steel will intensify. The future of this metal is based on its historic evolution especially the transformations it experienced in the 19th century and in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s decades of the 20th century. The evolution of steel, its future prospects and forecasts for related areas are discussed.
