AUSTRALIAN futures were trading 29 points higher this morning, indicating a positive start to the new week, month, half and financial year. It comes as the SP 500 closed more than 1.2 higher on Friday night. Trading in North America will be quiet today with Toronto closed for the Canada Day public holiday and markets in the US likely to be quiet as people take advantage of a four-day weekend ahead of the Independence Day holiday tomorrow.
