Crude Oil Exports in April Declined by Volume but Increased by Value

The volumes of crude oil exported by Iraq fell to 64.2 million barrels in April from 66.9 million barrels in March (see table on following page), but due to the rise in international prices, the value of those exports rose to $7.34 billion in April from $7.17 billion the month before and $6.1 billion in February 2011. The corresponding value was only $4;22 billion in April 2010 and $2.69 billion in April 2009. The average price of the crudes exported by Iraq averaged $114.36/barrel in April, representing a gain of $7/b in the space of a month (from $107.13/b in March) and $16/b relative to February ($98.44/b).
