Dana Petroleum Reports Another Oil Discovery on the North Zeit Bay Block

The British firm Dana Petroleum has made another oil discovery with the Fin-IX well drilled on the onshore North Zeit Bay tract in the Gulf of Suez region. The well was drilled about three kilometers from the Lorcan discovery announced in June and was taken down to a depth of 10,038 feet. It encountered good-quality oil-bearing sands in the Kareem formation and a well stem test yielded an average flow of 1,149 barrels/day of crude through a 52/64-inch choke. The flow was limited by the temporary test facilities utilized and the need to evacuate the oil by road tanker.
