Biome Makers awarded EU funds for BeCrop development

US soil analytics company Biome Makers (Sacramento, California) has been awarded $1.6 million from the EU. The grant will fast-track machine learning and AI development of its soil health analysis technology BeCrop, says the business. The EU recognises the positive environmental and socio-economic impact of the technology for farmers, says Biome Makers, adding that BeCrop is the “world’s largest” database of taxonomic references holding over 415,000 ha of analysed soil samples.
